Manchester United are fully convinced about signing French midfielder Youssouf Fofana in January, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.
The Red Devils strengthened their midfield with the signings of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba this summer.
Santos and Tielemans have already made their debuts for the Mancunian giants, while Baleba is expected to do so this weekend.
The club are still in the transfer market for another defensive midfielder and Fofana has emerged as a top target for the New Year.
The Frenchman signed for Sevilla on a straight loan deal until next summer, and there is no buy or obligation to purchase him.
Hence, Milan could seek to terminate the deal at the turn of the year to sell him to United, though that needs to be mutually agreed upon.
United are likely to test Milan's resolve when the transfer window reopens, given Fofana could be open to joining the club this winter.
