Celtic defender Wilson returns to Forest

09 August 2013 - 17:28

Championship side Nottingham Forest have successfully completed the signing of Celtic defender Kelvin Wilson for an undisclosed fee.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 27 year old Nottingham back in 2011 to join the Scottish heavyweights and quickly cemented his place in Neil Lennon's side.

Celtic have already lost few of their key players to English sides this summer and manager Neil Lennon had been critical of the way Forest have tried to influence Wilson into coming back.

Wilson expressed his delight after the two clubs finally agreed over the transfer in a statement to the club's official website.

He told the Nottingham Forest's website: "It's nice to be back. I'm delighted to get it all sorted and I can't wait to get started to be honest.

"I wouldn't have left Celtic for just anyone, it had to be the right club. And no club fitted the bill better than Nottingham Forest.

"Out of everything, I have probably missed the fans the most. I love playing at the City Ground.

"I know people talk about Barcelona, this game and that game, but I just love matchdays at the City Ground."
