Rolando completes loan switch to Inter

10 August 2013 - 17:31

Portugal international Rolando has completed his one year long loan move to Serie A giants Inter Milan.

  • Arsenal to hijack Chelsea deal for English winger?
  • Arsenal & Chelsea battling to sign Ajax defender

  • The 27 year old had been struggling to make his way to the first team at Porto after he fell out of favor with Vitor Pereira. He was loaned out to Napoli earlier this year but only managed to make 7 appearances for the Serie A runners up in the second half of the last season.

A statement released on Inter's official website read: "Rolando Jorge Pires da Fonseca, better known simply as Rolando, has signed for Inter on loan from Porto.

"Since beginning his career at Belenenses, he has acquired a wealth of experience at Porto (2008-2013), Napoli (2013) and Portugal (U21 and senior teams), and will now further strengthen Walter Mazzarri's defensive options.

"The centre-half is due to start training with the Nerazzurri when they return from their US tour."

Having already had some experience in the Serie A last season, Rolando appears to be decent acquisition for the Nerrazuris.
