Hannover complete Brazilian defender Marcelo switch

11 August 2013 - 15:41

Bundesliga side Hannover have completed the signing of Brazilian center back Marcelo from PSV Eindhoven on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

  • Tottenham finally agree terms with Man Utd target
  • Chelsea beat Inter Milan to sign £47m Italian star
  • The tall center half was a regular for the Eredivisie club and makes his move to the AWD Arena after spending three years at the Dutch club.

The former Brazil U 20 international is scheduled to participate in his first training session with his new team mates on Tuesday.

Hannover coach Mirko Slomka told the club's official website: "Marcelo was a regular starter at PSV Eindhoven and has the qualities that you look for in a modern-day central defender: consistent tackling, physical presence and good play from the back.

"He also impressed during the friendly match in the HDI Arena a few weeks ago. I'm delighted he's decided to join 96."
