Owen Coyle denies any bid for James McCarthy

Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has reaffirmed that there has been no transfer offer for Republic of Ireland International James McCarthy. The 22-year-old is been closely monitored by Everton-managed by former boss Roberto Martinez.<br /><br />Coyle has said that he would not come into McCarthy's way should a top side with Champions League prospects make an offer for the midfielder.

    "I'm quite comfortable in telling you I've not had any enquiries or offers. If I did I would be the first to tell you.<br /><br />"We've got good players. I wouldn't be surprised if there was interest but at the moment there's nothing to talk about."
