Sebastian Perez returns to Colombia after Arsenal trial

Sebastian Perez returns to Colombia after Arsenal trial

14 August 2013 - 10:38

Arsenal appear to have missed out on a transfer for Colombian youngster Sebastian Perez, who has returned to his home country. The Gunners will be unable to secure a work permit for the player and have decided against pushing for a transfer at this time.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Whilst the Gunners were impressed with Perez during a two week trial spell, it is understood that the possibility of a move had been brought to a halt after investigations revealed that Perez would not be able to secure a work permit.

Atletico Nacional, Perez's club, confirmed Perez would be returning to the club.

“We knew that and we waiting for an answer, but couldn’t get one and the player will continue to work with us. The possibility of going to Arsenal has been ruled out," said Víctor Marulanda, the director of football at Atletico National.
