Premier League giants Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Willian pending a work permit hearing this week.

 • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
 • In a surprise turn of events, the 25 year old Brazilian joined the Blues after having passed the medical at the club. The promising playmaker was reported to be close to sealing a deal to White Hart Lane earlier today but the deal is believed to have fallen through after the player failed the medical.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho criticised his city rivals for not keeping their transfer business under wraps.
"You have to do the medical before, but the best thing to do is to do the medical in secret," said Mourinho. "If the player is fine, you can sign him. If the player is not fine you don't destroy his career."
A statement in the club's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with both Willian and his club Anzhi Makhachkala for the transfer of the Brazilian player.
"The transfer is subject to a work permit hearing on Wednesday."
