Swansea boss Laudrup admits Odemwingie interest

26 August 2013 - 15:43

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has revealed that he is interested in signing Peter Odemwingie as he looks to further strengthen his attacking department ahead of the transfer deadline.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • The Nigeria international has been told he is free to leave the Hawthorns this summer after falling out with manager Steve Clarke. There has been interest in the striker from Turkish clubs but the Baggies have turned down all advances so far as the offers have failed to meet their evaluation.

Premier League clubs Stoke City and Crystal Palace are also believed to be weighing up a move for the wantaway striker but Laudrup seems to be in pole position to secure his services for this season.

"We want to add one more who can give us that in a certain part of the game or in certain games," Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post

"And he (Odemwingie) is a player with pace who knows the league."
