Chris Coleman to sign new Wales contract

08 September 2013 - 06:15

Wales manager Chris Coleman will sign a new contract next week, despite slipping to a surprise defeat to Macedonia in World Cup qualifying last week. The Welshman will put pen to paper on a two year contract extension.

 • Man Utd favourites to sign 25yo Newcastle star
 • Chelsea & Man Utd want to sign Arsenal defender?
 • The player has so far struggled to turn around the team's fortunes since the death of former manager Gary Speed, but it appears the Welsh football association has complete faith in the former Fulham boss.
"It's been agreed basically. we just wanted to get these two games out of the way. That was the most important thing," said Coleman.
"What has gone on with Gareth Bale is enough of a distraction, we didn't need anything else. But that has basically been agreed."
