Mathieu Flamini has given a hint that he could leave Arsenal for Marseille, the team which he regards as "the club of his heart", just weeks after rejoining the Gunners on a free transfer.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The 29-year-old Frenchman joined the Gunners on a free transfer during the recently concluded summer transfer window, having spent the last five years away at AC Milan.

Flamini was given his first start of the Premier League campaign on his second stint with Arsenal in their 3-1 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, but he has expressed that he could leave the Gunners once more, as he has the wish to finish his career in France.

Flamini told reporters : "You should never say never. "I did my apprenticeship there. Of course it's the club of my heart.

"I've always stayed close to it, because I'm in contact with [Marseille sporting director] Jose Anigo, someone who knows me very well.

"There has never been anything concrete and I have some good years ahead me."
