Turan extends stay at Atletico Madrid

19 September 2013 - 17:18

Turkey international Arda Turan has announced that he has signed a new contract with his club that will see him stay at the Vicente Calderon till 2017.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 26 year old midfielder moved to Atletico back in 2011 and has since then helped them lift the Europa League in his first season and the Copa Del Rey very recently. Turan, who was linked with Manchester City this summer, was attracting interest from a host of other clubs this summer but he chose to stay at his club.

He told the club's website: "I feel very happy to have extended my contract with Atletico.

"After two years with Atletico I I feel like part of the family which is the club. If I'm so happy at the club, its because my team-mates are so strong and we're all in this together."
