Christian Eriksen happy to have snubbed Manchester City move

22 September 2013 - 06:46

Tottenham Hotspur's summer signing Christian Eriksen has expressed his happiness of having joined the North London outfit whilst turning down a move to Manchester City last season.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The former Ajax playmaker felt he may have not featured much at City and wanted to continue his development as a player.

Eriksen told reporters: "It took me a while to get here because I said no a few times. Last summer City really wanted to try to sign me but it didn't feel right for me.

"I didn't feel ready for a league like the Premier League and now it looks like I moved at the right time. Maybe I wouldn't have played at City. A lot of players moved from Ajax in the last year and it gave me responsibility and made me grow. It made me better.

"I'm here to try to win the title, everybody wants that. The most important thing is to make the Champions League next year and once you are in the top four you can start looking for first place."

Spurs travel to the Welsh Capital to face Cardiff City today.
