Sunderland to make move for Gianfranco Zola?

24 September 2013 - 06:48

Sunderland could make a move for Watford manager Gianfranco Zola. The Italian is one of the top four favourites to replace Paolo Di Canio, who was yesterday controversially fired by chairman Ellis Short.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Zola has done well since taking charge at Watford, with the former Chelsea legend desperate to make a return to the Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo is also another favourite to take over at the Stadium of Light, but chairman Ellis Short is not confident that he can persuade the former Chelsea manager Di Matteo to take over at the Black Cats.
