Spurs warned off Dani Jarque

Spurs warned off Dani Jarque

12 November 2007 - 10:44

Tottenham have been warned off of making a move for Espanyol's 24-year-old central defender Dani Jarque. Juande Ramos is reportedly keen to bring in defenders during January, and Jarque is very highly rated by his fellow countryman.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Espanyol are aware of interest in Jarque, but are adamant that they do not want to sell the player.

"We have not received any offers for Jarque, but it is certain that we know of interest from some clubs in the player," an Espanyol spokesman told skysports.com.

"Now he is an important member of our team and we are not interested in his sale."

Jarque was remaining coy on the speculation and insists he is concentrating on life at Espanyol.

"I only know of this news through the press because I have not spoken to anyone about the subject," said Jarque.

"My club has not said anything to me and now my objective is to triumph at Espanyol.

"It is normal that I desire to progress like any player, but I prefer to speak about this question if propositions really arrive."
