Chelsea are in the race to sign Benfica's highly rated central midfielder Nemanja Matic. The player had a spell back with Chelsea three years ago and has since gone on to impress at his current club.

Matic, 25, has been linked with several teams in the Premier League and today Vidic has confirmed that he would be interested in a return: "I would probably like to stay another year with Benfica, but if somebody like Mourinho wanted to bring me back to London, it would be difficult to turn down.<br />

"It would be a great chance to prove that I can play in the Premier League."
