Rijkaard slams mentalities

Rijkaard slams mentalities

14 November 2007 - 00:25

Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard has slammed some of his players for their inability to muster up results away from home. Rijkaard feels this is Barca's main weakness, and feels the club must improve away from home if they are to have a successful year.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "It’s not the first time we’ve spoken about this subject. We have to improve our teamwork." The Dutchman was quoted saying on the club's website.

"I don’t know if we’re in crisis but we haven’t picked up many points away from home and that’s something we have to overcome. It’s not a question of quality but of mentality”.

Barca lost to Getafe 2-0 last week-end to continue their poor away form as they only won one of five games played out of the Camp Nou.

“In the away matches there are some players who have performed below their own level," added Rijkaard.
