Crystal Palace are reportedly closing in on the appointment of former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka as their new manager.
The 40-year-old Spaniard who worked under former Los Blancos manager Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu, held talks with the Eagles co-chairman Steve Parish last week, and is expected to hold further discussions with the South London outfit in the next few days.<br />
The Guardian reports that Karanka is considered the number one choice to manage the Premier League strugglers, in spite of his lack of managerial experience.
