Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick could be out of action until the New year having suffered an achilles injury which ruled him out of England's squad recently.

The Telegraph claims that the former West Ham United star was playing through the niggling injury for the past few games.<br />
Senior medical staff at Old Trafford have admitted that Carrick would be out for atleast six weeks with the injury.
