Premier League target Ola Toivonen will pursue January transfer

17 November 2013 - 06:09

Ola Toivonen has finally confirmed that he will leave his current club PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season. The Swedish international's contract at the Eredivisie side will then expire, leaving him free to join another team on a free transfer.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • Numerous English clubs have shown interest in the player, with Newcastle and Norwich seemingly the favourites to secure the striker's signature. Toivonen has yet to give any hints as to where he will end up, apart from the fact that the writing is on the wall and he will be leaving Holland.

The burly forward responded to reports of an imminent departure: "It looks good, it expires in June. We have had a meeting with the club and I told them how I feel. It was an open and honest talk.

"I want to find a new club. But PSV also want that I sign and help the club.

"The dream would be to move in January, then PSV also get money."
