Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring the progress of Brazilian starlet Abner, with a view of making a January bid for the player.
The 17-year-old left-back, who currently plys his trade for Brazilian outfit Coritiba, has been associated with a switch to Europe, after having a string of top-class performances in the recent Under-17s FIFA World Cup in United Arab Emirates.<br /><br />According to talkSPORT, the Magpies have been named as one of the contenders for the Abner's services, with the likes of Roma and Benfica also keen on signing the player. <br /><br />Abner is currently valued at around £1.5m by Coritiba.
