Newcastle chasing Cheick Diabate

21 November 2013 - 08:46

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is hoping to add a new striker to his squad during the January football transfer window, and is hopeful that a deal can be agreed to sign Bordeaux's striker Cheick Diabate.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 25-year-old forward has forced his way into Bordeaux's first team recently and has started to repay the faith shown in him by his boyhood club. The Mali international has attracted the attentions of several other teams in France, but it appears Newcastle are keen to add to their French league foreign revolution at St. James' Park by adding the player to their squad in January.

The 6 foot 4 forward could be allowed to leave for a fee of around 3.7 million Euros as Bordeaux have reportedly agreed to let the player leave in the transfer window.
