Stoke City rues failure to sign Juan Agudelo

23 November 2013 - 07:02

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is disappointed to have missed out on the signing of Colombian striker Juan Agudelo. The forward's projected transfer to Stoke City has been cancelled after the striker failed to earn a work permit to play in England.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Hughes said: "I am disappointed regarding the news on Juan Agudelo. It is hugely disappointing for us, but it is also devastating for the lad. No doubt somebody in Europe will pick him up and he will be a sensation somewhere else, unfortunately.

"We are still in the market for other players as well. The focus hasn't all been on just one player. We are looking at all situations. Most clubs are looking at players not involved and most are open to a loan deal."
