Wolfsburg are still hopeful that a deal can be agreed to sign Belgium's international midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. The player has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea after reportedly falling out with Jose Mourinho.
De Bruyne has expressed his wish to leave the club in January on loan in search of regular football, whilst manager Jose Mourinho is also ready to let the player leave on a short term deal.
Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have been persistently linked with a transfer for the attacking midfielder and the German side have confirmed they have an interest in the player, but only if a deal can be reached for a permanent transfer.
Klaus Allofs, Wolfsburg's General Manager told the press: "If Chelsea want to sell him, we are ready to buy him or loan him with an option to buy. We are not interested in a pure loan agreement."
De Bruyne will be eager to leave Chelsea on loan ahead of the World Cup tournament next summer.
