WBA manager Steve Clarkes contract talks stall

Clarke wants to focus on the football instead

WBA manager Steve Clarke's contract talks stall

07 December 2013 - 04:58

According to reports, West Bromwich Albion's contract talks with Steve Clarke appear to have stalled. Their manager has told club representatives that he wants to wait until after January before deciding where his future lies.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Clarke has just six months remaining on his current deal at the Hawthorns and the club are desperate to sign the former Chelsea assistant manager down to a new deal. However, the Scotsman is in no immediate rush to commit and is happy to bide his time before signing on the dotted line.

West Brom have been on somewhat of a poor run, having won only one of their last eight games and today they need to defeat relegation threatened Norwich City in the league.

Clarke, despite his huge popularity at West Brom, admits that he wants to stay at the club but is more focused on ensuring that his club's current blip of poor results is turned around and that he focuses on football as opposed to new contracts.
