Stoke City interested in Luuk de Jong

11 December 2013 - 05:59

Stoke City are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Luuk de Jong during the January transfer window.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The Potters manager Mark Hughes has the player at the top of his transfer list, having seen his strikers fail to score more than two league goals this season.

With De Jong's future with the Bundesliga outfit currently uncertain following a fall-out with manager Lucien Favre, Stoke could well lunge into the opportunity of landing the signature of the talented 23-year-old striker, who has made just 11 appearances for his club, all from the bench.

The Mirror claims that De Jong is desperate to leave Monchengladbach in January, in order to boost his chances of earning a berth in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil next year.
