Swansea City in hunt for Stopper

11 December 2013 - 10:24

Swansea City manager Micheal Laudrup has confirmed that Dutch International Michel Vorm will need to have an operation on a niggling knee injury this season.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Michel Vorm, who missed Monday's Hull game was replaced by second choice Gerhard Tremmel, but has travelled with the team for Thursday night's Europa League clash against St Gallen.

The Manager told the press that he was undecided when the 30-year-old would go under the knife after which he needs four to five weeks worth of recovery period.

Laudrup admitted the need for an extra keeper with the number of important fixtures during Christmas and the following month, with only 18-year-old Slovenian Gregor Zabret on the bench.

He also said the amount of pressure that will be put on the reserve keepers will be unfair considering the little experience they have in the Premier League and would do no good to their confidence.
