Aston Villa to make bid for Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton

12 January 2014 - 04:15

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is considering a transfer for Tottenham's defender Kyle Naughton. The youngster has been in and out of the first team this season and Spurs' manager Tim Sherwood is ready to sell for £5 million.

  • The Villans have made the signing of a new defender their top priority in this transfer window and Kyle Naughton has been linked with a move to Lambert's side after he was made available for transfer should another team match the club's asking price.

The 25-year-old has played just 18 first team games for Tottenham since arriving at the club back in 2009 from Sheffield United and is growing increasingly frustrated at a perceived lack of first team football at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham have told the versatile player that he can leave Spurs and Aston Villa are seemingly in pole position to secure a deal.
