Hull City have completed the signing of West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee of around £7m.
The Republic of Ireland international was assumed to be closing in on the transfer having had a medical with the Tigers yesterday.
The 26-year-old revealed his happiness at joining the club and was keen to impress the Hull City faithful following the transfer.
"It's a club that's on the up, and I'm delighted to be a part of that." Long was quoted saying on Hull's official Twitter page. "I've met all of the lads today, and everybody seems really friendly.
"I'm lucky that I've had a few inside informers letting me know what it's like up here. They all love it up here, and they're excited by what is happening at the club.
"After meeting the manager, and respecting what he's done in the game, I was happy to start a new part of my career here."
Shane Long spent three seasons with the Baggies scoring 22 goals in the process.
