West Ham plan bid for Alberto Gilardino

20 January 2014 - 07:13

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will fly out to Italy this week in an effort to wrap up a deal for Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino. The Italian international could move to England as part of a 3 million Euro deal.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • The Genoa striker has long been linked with a move to England and West Ham have always been in the race to sign the forward, however, it is still not certain if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs. With Allardyce now able to call upon the returning Andy Carroll, the Hammers have more options up front than they did in the month of December when Modibo Maiga was West Ham's only available striker.
