Kroos yet to agree contract extension

23 January 2014 - 16:39

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos is yet to agree a contract with the club, club's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told kicker magazine. The German international is contracted with the club till the end of 2015 season.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Despite being one of few first choice players under new manager Pep Guardiola, the 24 year old is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

Speaking to kicker, Rummenigge shed some light on why a new contract has still not been signed,

“To be honest: Because the talks so far have not led to a new contract.”

“It’s always about the money in every agreement. Just that much: We are interested that Toni prolongs his contracted."

Since returning from his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen Kroos has been a regular for the club and was a pivotal player for the team that won UEFA Champions League last season.
