Has Robinson been dropped?

Has Robinson been dropped?

20 November 2007 - 21:14

Rumours are rife that Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been dropped for England's crunch qualifying game against Croatia at Wembley on Wednesday. Apparently, a poor performance in training on Tuesday has all but sealed his fate and Steve McClaren is set to start Scott Carson in goal.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Many feel that Paul Robinson's blunders against Croatia and Macedonia could cost him his place in this crucial game, with McClaren concerned that Paul Robinson is not ready for the big game.

McClaren is giving serious consideration to handing a competitive debut to Aston Villa's Scott Carson in tomorrow's crucial European Championship qualifying match against Croatia after Robinson's poor showing in training.

Although he has kept clean sheets in all but two of England's 11 qualifying matches, McClaren is clearly worried about playing an out-of-confidence goalkeeper.
