Michael Essien rejects West Ham

24 January 2014 - 07:42

Michael Essien has turned down a move to West Ham in favour of a switch to AC Milan in Italy. The Ghana international is close to agreeing a move to link up with new manager Clarence Seedorf at the San Siro.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Essien has been told that he is free to leave Stamford Bridge after slipping down the pecking order at the Blues and manager Jose Mourinho is ready to let him leave for as little as just £2 million to the Italian giants.

AC Milan have struggled this year and are hoping to bring in at least five new players before the end of the January transfer window.

The Hammers are said to have made a late offer for Essien yesterday evening.
