Newcastle United rebuff PSG's £14m offer for Yohan Cabaye

26 January 2014 - 22:34

Newcastle United have apparently rejected a bid of £14m from French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the services of star midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Ligue 1 giants have been strongly linked with a transfer for the former Lille man since the summer, and a report from PA claims that Les Parisiens have been unsuccessful with their initial transfer offer worth £14m.

The 28-year-old has been one of the bright spots for the Magpies, having scored seven goals in the Premier League from an advanced midfield role under manager Alan Pardew this season.

It is understood that the Tyneside outfit would find it hard to prevent Cabaye from leaving the club, should Paris Saint-Germain make a appreciable bid in the region of £25m for his services.

Cabaye has made 93 appearances for the club since his move from Lille in the summer of 2011.
