Diego set to return back to Spain

Wolfsburg’s Brazilian midfielder Diego is set to return to Spain with his former club Atletico Madrid. It is reported that a loan fee has been agreed between the two clubs which is believed to be 1.5 million Euros. The midfielder was coach Diego Simeone’s prime target for a hectic run in.

  • During his previous stint at the club he made 43 appearances and scored six goals for the club. He was also part of the team that went on to win the UEFA Europa League.



    The former Juventus midfielder was out of contract in the summer and had made it clear that he would not be renewing his contract with his current club.



    Diego could make his second Atleti debut when the club host Basque club Real Sociedad on the weekend in La Liga.
