  • The 23 year old joined the Magpies in January this year after initially snubbing their advances to join Gladbach in 2012. However the former FC Twente man had a miserable time at Borussia Park and found himself well down the pecking order.

This is what the striker told Daily Mirror,

“I would like to be important for this team, in terms of goals and assists, and work hard.”

I’m on loan with an option to stay and I would like to go on with this option if it is possible.” “Of course I would like to try to impress enough to stay.”

It has been revealed in certain media quarters that the Premier league club will have to shell out 8 million pounds to land the seven times capped Dutch international.
