  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Slovenian has not been a regular in manager Philip Cocu’s side and has only managed to start seven games this season. Matavz was also linked with a move to La Liga in August, only it failed to materialize.

This is what PSV technical director Marcel Brands told the club's website,

"Although Cocu would rather see the striker leave in summer, he feels confident that PSV have sufficient attackers, including Luciano Narsingh, Bryan Ruiz, Jurgen Locadia, Memphis Depay, Florian Jozefzoon and Zakaria Bakkali, to allow the deal to go through."

The striker joined PSV from fellow Eredivisie side FC Groningen in 2011 and scored 24 goals in 66 games for the club.
