Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is close to signing a new five year deal at the club. The reported deal will make Rooney the highest paid player in English football.
It had been reported that Rooney was not happy with the club’s apparent lack of ambition and wanted out. Chelsea had also expressed interest in the player but it now seems the player will be staying at Old Trafford for the next five years.
Reports from various news dailies suggest that talks have progressed nicely since last month and once the fine tuning is done the contract will be signed soon.
Rooney is currently in Dubai along with the rest of Manchester United Squad preparing for club’s next match.
