Ajax still being investigated over tasteless banner

25 February 2014 - 16:28

Investigations are still ongoing regarding the banner that was displayed by Ajax fans during their match against Feyenoord in the Dutch cup’s quarter finals on 22nd January this year.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The match finished 3-1 to the Lancers but during the match a banner was unfurled in box 410 by the home fans mocking the death of a Feyenoord fan who died of cancer just a few weeks ago.

    The banner read,

"Our smoke harvester than Rooie Marck."

Which translates to “our smoke is redder than Rooie Marck.”

KNVB called the banner tasteless and announced that action will be taken against the club if there was a case to be answered.

Now a month later the governing body have come out and said that investigations are still ongoing and that they have asked the club for some extra information.
