PSV keen to keep on loan defender

PSV Eindhoven are keen on keeping on loan Manchester City defender Karim Rekik at the club beyond the current season.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 19 year old has been one of the club’s better players and on the back of those performances has earned himself a call into the Dutch national squad against France.

The Boeren will now try to get the former Blackburn player at the club for a longer term.

This is what Coach Philip Cocu had to say about the player to de Telegraaf,

"We will do everything to work that out.”

"Karim is a very important player for PSV. I am not surprised at all he has been included in the Dutch squad.

"For his development it's important he plays weekly. That is also something we will let Manchester City know."

Since moving to the Philips Stadion Rekik has made 16 league appearances scoring one goal.
