Napoli interested in Swansea defender

Italian giants Napoli are monitoring the performances of Swansea City captain Ashley Williams, with a view to a summer move for his signature.

The talented Welsh centre-back has failed to replicate the form shown throughout the last campaign, where the Swans won the Capital One Cup.



However, The Mirror reports that Napoli manager Rafael Benitez is impressed by the defender's ability to withstand pressure from the opposition during Napoli's Europa Cup tie against the South Welsh club, and could make a bid in the region of £5m for his signature during the summer transfer window.



Williams joined Swansea City from Stockport County in 2008.
