Everton are reportedly monitoring the progress of Sevilla defender Federico Fazio with a view to a summer bid for his services, according to The Daily Mail.
The report claims that the Toffees manager Roberton Martinez is keen on signing the talented defender as a potential replacement for Sylvain Distin who is nearing the end of his career at the Merseyside.
However, the Toffees will face a transfer tussle with La Liga giants Barcelona who have been strongly associated with a move for the player in the summer, following his excellent performances in the La Liga throughout the current campaign.
Everton are currently 6th in the Premier League standings.
