Newcastle United are understood to be keen on securing the services of Manchester City defender Micah Richards in the summer, according to The Daily Star.
The 25-year-old, who has been hampered by a series of injuries in recent years, has failed to cement his place in the starting lineup under manager Manuel Pellegrini this season.
The Daily Star claims that the Magpies are ready to offer the talented right-back an escape route from the Citizens and are willing to match his current weekly wage structure of £72,000.
Richards has made just 10 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions this season.
