Barcelona are believed to be interested in making a summer move for Chelsea defender David Luiz, with a view that the club will have their year-long transfer ban dropped.

The Spanish giants have been recently banned from making transfers for the next season, following a breach in rules relating to the acquisitions of under-18 players.

 

However, the Catalans are confident that they will be awarded a successful appeal, which has prompted them to consider making a fresh attempt to land the signature of the talented Brazilian international.

 

Blues would be open to the sale of Luiz for a fee in the region of £25m.
