Tottenham sack Tim Sherwood

Tottenham have parted company with Tim Sherwood. The manager had been given an 18 month contract last December, but has been fired with a year remaining on his deal.

Spurs had an option to end their agreement with Sherwood at the end of the 2013/2014 season and have exercised their right to part company with the former Spurs midfielder.

Sherwood had been hoping to keep his job but it is understood Tottenham are looking at other managers to take charge this summer, with Frank De Boer and Rafa Benitez both linked with the newly vacant role.
