Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will move to Barcelona next season after his new club confirmed a deal had been agreed for the German shot stopper. The player arrives from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Ter Stegen is widely regarded as one of the hottest goalkeeping properties in European football and Barcelona have pursued his signature for over a year, since finding out that long term number 1 Victor Valdes would be pursuing a move away from the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
Barcelona had been hit with a transfer embargo but were able to sign the German keeper after announcing the club planned to appeal the decision.
The goalkeeper said of his impending move: "I played 18 years for Borussia. It's a strange feeling. I know I'll miss the club, but I'm of course excited.
"I'm really grateful to Borussia. I have lived so much here, especially many beautiful things."
