Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will move to Barcelona next season after his new club confirmed a deal had been agreed for the German shot stopper. The player arrives from Borussia Monchengladbach.

  • Ter Stegen is widely regarded as one of the hottest goalkeeping properties in European football and Barcelona have pursued his signature for over a year, since finding out that long term number 1 Victor Valdes would be pursuing a move away from the Nou Camp at the end of the season.

Barcelona had been hit with a transfer embargo but were able to sign the German keeper after announcing the club planned to appeal the decision.

The goalkeeper said of his impending move: "I played 18 years for Borussia. It's a strange feeling. I know I'll miss the club, but I'm of course excited.

"I'm really grateful to Borussia. I have lived so much here, especially many beautiful things."
