Luis Enrique confirmed as new Barcelona coach

Barcelona have confirmed that Luis Enrique will replace Gerardo Martino as head coach at the Nou Camp. Luis Enrique, who served as a player for Barca for several years, has signed a three year contract.

The move to bring back their former B team boss will be a popular decision with club fans, who have long wanted Enrique to take charge at the Camp Nou. The 44-year-old has hugely respected by Barca officials and will immediately replace Gerardo Martino who agreed to leave the club by mutual consent this week.

Enrique made over 300 appearances at Barcelona between 1996 and 2004.
