Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has completed a transfer deal for the first time this summer having wrapped up the signing of West Bromwich Albion defender Billy Jones.
The 27-year-old has completed a deal and penned a four year contract at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats have fended off the interest of West Ham and Cardiff City for the central defender.
"I'm really happy to be here and I'm looking forward to getting back for preseason and kicking on," Jones told Sunderland's official website. "I've played at the Stadium of Light a number of times, so I know what it's about and what great backing the club has.
