Bremen pres supports Diego

Bremen pres supports Diego

29 November 2007 - 21:01

Jurgen Born, the president of Werder Bremen, has insisted that he would not stand in the way of Diego should he decide to leave. The Brazilian playmaker has been persistently linked with a move to Real Madrid.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • "If Diego really wanted to go to Real Madrid I would not oppose him going," Bolan was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca.

Born still hopes he can persuade Diego, whose contract runs out in 2011, to continue with Bremen.

"Diego is an important player. He would only leave if he wanted to go and we were not able to keep him.

"But we are going to do everything possible to keep him and I do not want to imagine him not playing for my team," he added.
