Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has put an end to talk suggesting that he might leave Leicester City and has signed a new contract until 2018. The keeper's contract was due to expire this month.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The keeper has decided to stay at Leicester City despite the reported interest of several teams, including Italian club AS Roma.

"I’m tremendously proud to sign for this great club again," said Schmeichel.

"Leicester has felt like home since the day I arrived three years ago and always felt like the right choice for me.

"I was always confident that my future would be sorted once we achieved our objective of winning promotion to the Premier League and I’d like to thank the owners and the manager for making it happen."
