Southampton have reportedly knocked back a bid of around £20m for their star defender Dejan Lovren from Liverpool.
The 24-year-old, who played for the Croatian national side at the World Cup finals in Brazil, is seeking a move away from the Saints this summer, with a host of top Premier League clubs interested in his services.
According to the Daily Echo, Lovren had given a transfer request to the Saints, but the South Coast club are unwilling to accept to his demands. It is also believed that the Croatian defender will not return to pre-season training, as he is keen on plying his trade with a club in the Champions League.
Liverpool's latest bid has been rejected, in spite of the fee matching the asking price for the player.
